The Walk, a 240,000 square foot mixed-use center, completed in 2001 raises quality to a new level and makes this suburban city site attractive to national-caliber tenants. Spanning two full blocks on University Drive in Coral Springs, this blend of Class A Office and premier retail space combined with its fountain features and lush landscaping creates a unique place to work, shop and dine. With its distinctive atmosphere and wide range of fine dining and casual fare, The Walk has created a unique “main street” focal point for the City of Coral Springs incorporating a day-to-night environment.
This landmark project was completed in three phases. The first phase included a 27,000 square foot Barnes and Noble store developed by Amera for lease to the book retailer in 1996 as well as two free-standing restaurants — Hops Grill & Brewery and Longhorn Steakhouse (know currently tenanted by 4 Rivers Smokehouse). The Hops site has since been redeveloped (2006) and currently houses TD Bank. In 2000, the project continued with the redevelopment of Coral Springs Trade Center, a 115,000-square-foot retail and office complex which was first acquired in 1991. This stage transformed the current center, featuring a new façade, fountain features, paver sidewalks and outdoor courtyards. The final phase featured two signature three-story buildings containing 60,000 square feet of Class A office space above 24,000 square feet of restaurants and specialty retail space, completed in 2001. The Walk, an award-winning pedestrian friendly mixed-use center, has become a signature landmark for the City of Coral Springs, and it is no wonder it is a favorite destination, both day and night.
